Anne Spielberg, Attorney

For more than twenty-five years, Anne has advised the firm's nonprofit clients about employment, personnel, and human resource issues that arise in their workplaces.  She counsels organizations about effective strategies for preventing and resolving employee disputes, adoption of appropriate personnel policies, and implementation of sound employment practices.  Anne has experience with a wide spectrum of employment issues, including compliance with state and federal nondiscrimination laws, wage and hour issues, proper worker classification, state and federal family and medical leave laws, reasonable compensation for executives, paid sick leave laws, workplace harassment claims, appropriate severance agreements, and wrongful termination.  She conducts trainings and provides workshops on employment topics.

Anne also advises nonprofit organizations about structural and governance issues, fundraising and contractual relationships, and other nonprofit issues. She counsels organizations that provide legal services about legal ethics requirements as well as IRS rules for tax exempt entities.  Anne has represented employees in discrimination and other employment law actions, including cases involving issues of sex and race discrimination, sexual harassment, and wrongful discharge. Anne also has experience litigating environmental, nuclear safety, and historic preservation issues on behalf of local and regional community groups.

Anne currently serves on the Board of Directors of several community nonprofit organizations.
