Ken White
Senior Counsel
Ken White is an accomplished employment, labor, and civil rights attorney with more than two decades of experience helping clients navigate workplace challenges, mitigate risk, and resolve disputes.
Ken’s federal career included appointments to the positions of Associate General Counsel at the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Assistant General Counsel at the National Labor Relations Board where he managed the NLRB’s internal employment and labor law office. Ken also held senior legal roles at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and the Environmental Protection Agency where he provided strategic advice to HR and organizational leadership on sensitive employment law matters, workplace policies, and legislative and regulatory changes. Ken began his legal career as part of the Legal Honors Program at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development where he investigated and initiated federal civil rights complaints in the area of fair housing.
The areas where Ken has provided expert labor and employment advice and training to employers include:
- Compliance with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act
- Responding to EEO complaints
- Conducting investigations in response to discrimination and misconduct allegations
- Drafting and updating workplace policies on topics including reasonable accommodation requests, anti-harassment procedures, and guidelines for telework and remote work
- Assisting clients in responding to grievances and unfair labor practice charges
- Providing strategic guidance on collective bargaining
- Training on how to navigate newly unionized workplaces
- Compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act
- Performance management best practices
- Managing reorganizations and other restructuring initiatives
- Responding to Federal Audits
Prior to attending law school, Ken worked for non-profit housing and consumer protection organizations leading grass roots and legislative campaigns. He is admitted to the D.C. and Massachusetts Bar.
