Cleveland.com recently quoted Brett Kappel discussing Matt Dolan taking out a line of credit worth between five to 25 million dollars to kickstart his Senate bid in 2021. He continued this practice for his 2022 bid, with Kappel explaining that federal election laws permit the usage of bank loans for campaigns as long as the loans adhere to the “usual and customary interest rate of the lending institution for the category of loan involved.”
