Harmon Curran is pleased to announce that two new attorneys have recently joined the firm

Katie Ellis joined Harmon Curran as an Associate in March 2019 and comes to us with more than 10 years of experience in nonprofit management and political consulting.

At the firm, Katie will advise the firm’s clients on the legal issues facing nonprofits including the establishment of new nonprofit entities, maximizing advocacy within federal and state laws, and all aspects of the employment relationship.

Katie is a 2007 graduate of Wellesley College and received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2015.

Eve Borenstein joined Harmon Curran in May 2019 in Of Counsel capacity having served the nonprofit sector for more than 30 years as an exempt organizations tax lawyer, sector advocate, and instructor to those who serve the sector.

At the firm, Eve will work with clients on IRS controversies, review of 990-series returns and Forms 4720 and specialized 990 issues, addressing the tax impact of crisis events, private letter rulings, public support test issues, and reclassification requests.

Eve is a 1981 graduate of University of Rhode Island and received her J.D. from University of Minnesota in 1985.

Eve is based in Minnesota and is licensed to practice law in Minnesota, not in the District of Columbia.
